A few steps forward and a few back. We now have the box over the gyro. I drilled the holes for the input and output beams and it is cleaned. However there were a few things in the way of getting it in place.
Firstly there were some parts we realised we would need to move - the AOM and the PD for the CCW beam. In order for us to be able to move the AOM it also had to go sideways a little so it wouldn't foul one of the mirrors. This meant moving basically all parts - curved mirror, iris, AOM, mirror, lens, polarizing beam splitter and the mirror that directs the beam into the faraday. I've not set up the PD yet.
Next I had to move the EOM slightly so that the cable would fit. This meant moving the mirror before it, a couple of wave plates, the polarizing beam splitter after it and also the mirror on the corner of the bench before the mode matching telescope.
I've started realigning things. The parts are aligned up to where the beam splits for the two paths. I've also got the AOM aligned and maximized the power for the 1st order on the way through (not on the way back yet) and have a diffraction efficiency of 76%. |
