I've been reading T080135 a bit further.  The auto-generated MEDM file in /cvs/cds/caltech/medm/C2/atf/ called C2ATF_GDS_TP.adl is the one that I've been checking to see if the front-end is working properly.  I've checked that this file was generated today when I compiled ATF.mdl, and it was.  I've made sure that the startatf file that I am running is the correct one - first of all making sure /cvs/cds/caltech/scripts is in the PATH (which it is) and secondly trying to do the startatf directly from that directory using ./startatf.  This startatf file was also generated today, so it is not an old version either.  And we still have the same issue that the MEDM screen isn't running properly - all the boxes are just white.

I notice that daqd isn't running again on FB0.  It had definitely started earlier after the reboot.  I did reboot FB0 one more time after this as I left the lab and by the time I got home and checked daqd wasn't running.  I don't know if this is a problem.
