Today Frank, me and Dmass all started making changes at the same time and broke everything. Please stop booting and fiddling at random. This means you Frank!
I set the time on fb0 to the correct time by using the command 'date -s'. It still has the issue that the ntp.conf is set to point at the wrong place. We need a NAT router and a gateway...
I also restarted the daqd process by the usual way of killing the running process. Same for nds. I changed the syntax in the start_nds.inittab to have the same error and logging
redirection as what we have at the 40m. This required knowledge of obscure Bourne shell stdout and stderr redirection sadly.
After restarting daqd, we could get data again by running diaggui on fb1 from the /apps directory (not /opt/apps/).
To conduct an experiment in DAQ stability, please stop even ssh'ing in to the router or fb1 until further notice. We want to see if the system dies by itself while taking data even if we stop
doing our 'this won't effect anything' nonsense. |
