The control room temp is warmer than usual. The heat exchanger Office Pro 18 set point was lowered from 70 to 68F yesterday.
The MOPA headtemp is higher also. The Neslab chiller bath temp peaks around 21.6 C daily. This should be rock solid 20.00 C
It did not have any effect.
Now, I have just lowered the thermostat setting of room 101 from 73 to71F I hope Koji can take this.
All 3 cranes will be load tested at 1 ton tomorrow morning between 9am and 2pm

Little change in the AC set temp can make wonders. Neslab chiller bath temp 19.99C is back to normal and daily variation of PSL are much better.
The lab is at 30,000 and Pasadena air is at 1.1 e+6 particles /cf min of 0.5 micron.
Head count at the evacuation drill today. I checked alarms and flashers at room 104,102,101, 103, 105 and 107. They were really loud and bright.
Bob and Steve closed BS chamber with the help of the manual Genie lift and the pump down started. The PSL shutter was closed and manual block was placed in the beam path. High voltage power supplies were checked to be off.

The PSL table height will be raised to the level of the AP table. This will be done using 6 TMC's Rigid Damped Tripod legs. Their planed positions shown below.
The legs will be grouted to the floor with concrete.
We are at 370 Torr at 9 hrs of pumping. RV1 is opened to ~ 3/8 turn orifice. We are using one roughing pump RP3 and butterfly valve is in place.
How to stop: 1, close RV1 by torque wheel 2, close V3 from MEDM screen 3, turn off RP3 roughing from MEDM screen 4, disconnect metal hose to oily pump
after butterfly valve. This KF-45 O-ring seal should be kept clean 5, place/close 45 mm cover blanks at the end of the hose and and on the 5" nipple.
How to start: 1, remove blanks from hose and nipple 2, reconnect roughing pump hose to RV1 nipple 3, turn on PR3 4, open V3 5, open RV1 by wrench to ~3/8
6, fine tune RV1 opening to 1 Torr/min
ESSENTIAL: one operator has to be present when oilly roughing pump is connected to the vac. envelope
3 days pump down #69 completed. Thanks to Koji and Kiwamu who did more roughing on Saturday and Sunday.

I had second thoughts about the power line to the OMC. Koji was right, we should disconnect them from the power supplies.
The PSL enclosure doors on the north side will have to be removed some times to move exiting and entering ports.

Our old ( 6 x 10 x 1 ) ft Newport optical table will have the same height as the neighboring AP table when this job is finished.
Today's work was to elevate the optical table ~ 2400 lbs to 30" clearance to create a workable space below.

Tiles and adhesive removed. There were no dust storms created. Solvent paint- removal made the hole IFO -lab smell like the paint shop.
The south door is open with a fan blowing air inside. The north-west door is open through control room to outside to let air rinse the drying
paint-removal. Koji is taking lunch break while test riding our new PSL table legs.

The floor preparation continued today. The really messy part of drilling and jack-hammering the concrete were done in controlled manner.
Particle counts peaked at 106K of 0.3 micron and 13 K of 1.0 micron particles/ cfmin at the top of SP table.
Legs were installed with the help of Koji and strongman Rana. Professor Rana was very useful lifting the 85 lbs legs.

Atm3, Part of the tunnel under the table was filled with quick drying concrete this morning to give solid support for tripod legs.
PVC tube 6 " ID with TEE will able us to connect AP table, PSL table and Control room if needed

Rough leveling was done by 4 individual levels at the four corners with 9" long Stanley cast aluminum levels.
Load balancing of the total weight ~ 3000 lbs over 6 legs x3 = ~170 lbs on each jack screw with Snap-On torque wrench at 140 lbs/ft

The 10' x 6' optical table is seating on 6 tripods. Each tripod leg has 3 feet. They are supported by jack screws against copper plates on the concrete floor. These set screws allowed us to set the height, level and distribute the load of the table.
To lock this position of the table grouting is used around the jack screws and between the concrete floor and the tripod feet.
Once the grout set the load will be carried by the hole feet of 4" x 3.25" x3 = 39 sq inches per tripod leg
These ~4" thick grouted islands of 8-9" OD will be covered by 4" concrete. The area between the legs will be filled with 8" thick concrete.

The preparation for pouring concrete is continuing. The grout forms were removed. Half inch ribbed steel bars were epoxied into our 4" thick floor.
The concrete holding sides- forms are cut to size. They will be installed on Monday morning and pouring concrete should follow.

This morning Mike Gerfen and me lowered the enclosure frame to normal height.
Keven- janitor and I removed plastic covers from chambers, racks, SP, MC2 and clean tool boxes.
The afternoon Jenne, Kiwamu, Joe and Aiden cleaned the enclosure inside out. The particle count measured zero inside the enclosure with HEPAs on when the covers were
removed. The MOPA and all other components were happy to see us in excellent condition.
This table height is very user friendly!

The PSL -leg concrete was sealed with a single coat of SCOFIELD Cureseal-S to minimize shedding of particles.
The optical table was covered and optics were removed from the shelf. Accelerometers were turned off.
I lowered room 101 thermostat setting from 74F to 72F
Our toilets were replaced by a green Gerber 1.6 gpf ( 6 lpf ) last week.
Crane balancing at the south end is continuing today.
The crane I -beam now leveled at all degrees of rotation. The lower hinge was moved southward about 1/4 of an inch. Performance was tested at 2000 lbs

I played with the particle counter this morning. Now it's running and reading the correct numbers on the old COCHECKLIST.adl medm screen.
However, it can not be seen with dataviewer.
Koji just rebooted the frame builder and the problem was solved.
Innolight 2W 1064nm main laser was turned off for more enclosure related work.
The electrician re rooting the power- conduit to the interlock under the floor and bring it through the new concrete tunnel.
Emergency laser power shut off switch was tested at entry door 104M. It worked fine.
No laser glasses required. Laser will be turned back on around 11 am today.

I turned off/on the power to the accelerometers in order to re rout their connections. I found cable connector body-nut #3 loose to Accelerometer 2X This connector should be checked for solid performance.
Cleaned up cables on the top and bottom. Vacuumed both areas. We still have some remaining shading from the MOPA umbilical and more unknown BNC cables hanging around.
The PSL out 2" OD beam guide tube was cut 1.5" shorter to 13.5"
The 10" OD 0.25" wall Al tube was replaced by a lighter, not anodized and thinner wall 0.094" tube of 15.5" lenght, that is 0.75" shorter.
The new position of the PSL table made these cuts necessary.

The vertex crane drive is overheating, it stopped functioning. Service man will be here tomorrow morning.
I crane was just turned on for for may be about 5 minutes. The vertical drive was fine for a while, but the horizontal did not worked at all.
The crane is tagged out again and the controller box is cooling down.

Module CCES-407 1HP 2.3A 460V/3 phase on the right was replaced. Speed was increased to 30 Hz
Atm2, See burned insulation on black wire that was shorting to the large suppressor resistor on Atm3 One can see the pit marks on the right end of it.
This large power dissipater resistor got hot as the malfunctioning controller 407 broke down. Touching black power wire insulation melted and made a short.
So the heat was created and finally the fuses were blown. The unnecessary large fuses were replaced by small ones.
Fortunately we had one spare controller on hand that made this repair to be done fast.
We used the new Crane Safety Check list from LIGO-E1000379-v1 the first time yesterday before doors were removed.
The control room's north west corner smelled like propane gas yesterday around 16:30
We all agreed that the smell was real and I called the safety office. I was told that they received 6 other calls from different parts of the campus.
The smell disappeared in about a half an hour.
Our visiting graduate student Yuta Michimura received 40m specific basic safety training today.
Accelerometers xyz were moved from IOO-south/west corner to under PSL table. They were turned off for ~20 minutes.
Guralp was also moved eastward about 2 ft. It is not leveled.
