ETMY sus damping was disabled. Green locking laser and associated electronics turned off. Computers and power supplies turned off at rack 1Y4
The electricians picking up ac power from 1Y4 manual disconnect box and installing conduit line to ISCT-ETMY east end optical table.
There will be no more daisy chaining this way.
The power is back on at ETMY . c1iscey has not been restarted.
Now I'm turning ac power off at ETMX for the same job to be done.
The power was turned back on at 4pm It took some time for Suresh to restart the computers. We have damping but things are not perfect yet. Auto BURTH did not work well.

We got a good price from Laseroptik, but the wedges are 5 arcminutes. The fused silica grade is 0F, meaning the homogeneity is 5 ppm instead of 1ppm. I requested an other large wedge quote on the substrates.We may have to get substrates from somebody else and ship it to Germany

Bob cleaned all safety glasses in 10 % Liquinox soap in water solution first. The transmittance of glasses were checked at 100 mW 1064 nm S polarization, beam diameter 0.5 mm at 0-20 deg incident.
Coherent FieldMate power meter measured T= < 1 mW of all glasses.

Our existing 300 series SS plungers from McMastercar #8476A43 are silver plated as Atm2 shows.
Problems: 1, they become magnetized after years being close to the magnets
2, they oxidize by time so it is hard to turn them

In order to get a better price from Vlier's Tom Chen I changed Ti body back to SS304L-siver plated and music wire spring. The price is still ~$120 ea. at quantity 50
I will talk to Mike G about modifying the McMaster plunger with a hex nut.
Conclusion: There is no need to silver plate the SS plunger at the torque level we hold the OSEMs
Mike Gerfen will be done with 50 pieces by April 4 and he will give them to Bob for cleaning. They should be cleaned and baked in a jig so the springs would be compressed for better venting.
Schott, green welding glass, shade 14, 3 mm thick was measured in the beam path of 1.2W, S polarization of 1064nm at ~1 mm diameter size as MC reflected path.
Absorption 95%, R 5% at incident angle 25-50 degrees. It looks like the perfect material for beam trap.
The CIT Chemistry Glass Shop cuts turned out to be sloppy using diamond disc blade cutter.
East coast Precision Glass & Optics offered scribed cut and polished side. Their quote price was high and time consuming.
The GLASS HOUSE shop in Pasadena 626 / 796-9151 on Walnut did a good and cheap job. Oscar the cutter will finish the rest of the cutting by next Friday, April 6
He used scribed cutting technic and his 1" x 0.5" pieces are good. Bob will pick up them up.

We received 6 new chairs stools for the work benches that have 36" heights.
The control room east side and general office desks require 18" seat height. The new chairs stools have minimum seat heights 26"
Please label chairs that we are getting rid of.
I added an U channel based bottom shelf at the south end today.
I'm working on similar shelf at ETMY. Precondition: NPRO in bypass mode, heater for doubling in bypass........since power outage? Optical level servo turned off.......
U-channel based shelf in place. Oplev servo is back on at 11:15am The table may moved. The oplev return is missing the quad by a few milimeter.

ETMX oplev had 6 mm diameter beam on the qpd. I relayed the beam path with 2 lenses to get back 3 mm beam on the qpd
BRC 037 -100 Bi _concave lens and PCX 25 200 VIS do the job. Unfortunately the concave lens has the AR 1064.
The uncoated bi-concave lens was replaced by AR coated one: KBC 037 -100 AR.14 resulting 35% count increase on qpd
I locked the PMC and the MC followed instantly.
Yesterday I swapped in new He/Ne laser with output power 3.5 mW The return spot on qpd is large ~6mm in diameter and 20,500 counts
The spot size reduction require similar layout as ETMX oplev.
New self checking emergency back up lights were installed at 13 locations in the 40m lab.
The PMC behavior is not changed.
3 strip charts monitoring on 24 hours time scale: Vac, PSL-IFO, SUS and 10 channel video monitoring inside - outside of 40m lab
IOO Angle & IOO Position QPDs centered.
The oplev path is relayed and the spot size on the qpd is reduced. I still have to clean up and replace "Miki Mouse" lens holder.
There was no IP-ANG coming out of the chamber at this time!
...will be helpful for acquiring lock after the vent. We should install a camera at ETMX.

Sony CCD in place needs alignment and ND filter
Something bad happened to c1sus and c1iscex ~20 min ago. They both have "0x2bad" 's. I restarted the daqd on the framebuilder, and then rebooted c1sus, and nothing changed. The SUS screens are all zeros (the gains seem to be set correctly, but all of the signals are 0's).
If it's not fixed when I get in tomorrow, I'll keep poking at it to make it better.

Mike Pedraza came by today to install a new wireless network router configured for the 40m lab network. It has a 'secret' SSID i.e. not meant for public use outside the lab. You can look up the password and network name on the rack. Pictures below show the location of the labels.

For some reason the state of the oplevs is completely different for almost every suspension. They have different sets of filters in the bank, and different filters engaged. wtf? How did this happen? Is this correct? Do we expect that the state of the oplevs should be different on all the different suspensions? I wouldn't have thought so.
I discovered this because the PRM is unstable with the oplevs engaged. I don't think it was yesterday. Is something hidden changing the oplev settings?

What not to do:
The PRM oplev servo was left on and it was driving this oscillation overnight.
The ref cavity ion pump was running at 7.7kV instead of 5kV
This Digitel SPC-1 20 l/s ion pump should be running at 5kV
I noticed that the ion pump was turned off.
It was turned ON. It showed 0.00 microA at 5kV The current display is not sensitive enough. There must be some small outgassing or leak. It adds up if we stop pumping.
We want to keep the reference cavity in pristine condition. It required the ion pump running all times.
Air conditioning maintenance is scheduled for tomorrow from 8 to 11am

The PRM oscillation stopped by turnig off oplev servo.
Do not turn Oplev Servo on when PRM is missaligned !
Jeff checked and replaced filters as needed. Job completed this morning.
We tried not to open chambers above 10,000 particles of 0.5 micron cf/min
New items going in: 2 rasor beam traps, 5 badly oxidized old silver plated setscrew with spring loaded tips......to be replaced in the future, viton tips for eq screws....some are lose, gold plated allen wrench installed at ITMX bottom, reglued magnet on ITMX
Bad hardware things found: nylon ball "locking elements" on OSEM locking set screws with screwdriver slot, lose 1064 nm filter on OSEM pd
40m - pumpdown 71- maglev pumping speed - at day 276........all normal
The PMC was locked and the MC followed intantly
Yuta claims he fixed the PRM oplev by centering it the other day, but no one has left it on and watched it for a long while, to make sure it's okay. We watched it now for ~2 min, and it was good, but we're leaving the oplevs off anyway for the night. Tomorrow we should restore PRM (it's currently restored), turn on the oplevs, and let it sit to make sure it doesn't go crazy.
PRM oplev servo was turned on with PITgain 0.5 and YAWgain -0.7
Note: gain settings were PIT 1.0 and YAW --0.5 on Jun 1, 2012 that I measured Feb 23, 2012
It is still oscillating. Gains turned down to zero.

All other sus cables of the same kind have the correct short latch arm to lock them in for reliable contact.
There is a small wood cabinet under the south end flow bench, labeled STACIS.
Unit is complete with extension cards and cables.
The south end flow bench HEPA filter should be run all times. You can turn it off for a measurement or two but remember we are storing clean optics there.
The zero count bench will reach room particle count ~ 10,000 in one minute.
