Yutaro Enamoto, visiting graduate student of Seiji received 40m specific basic safety training.
ETMX was not much effected by this 8.3 M Chilian earthquake. It was kicked up and it was kicking for hours after it. This is a sign of instability but it maintaind it's position.
The 24 hours plot follows the tempeerature.
I just turned off the PSL enclousure lights.
The ITMX OSEMS are oscillating.
The PMC is not happy and the ITMX UL OSEM is moving too much

Are they oscillating or not ?
ETMX, ETMY and MC2 POS _biases are off. Why ?
The Epics MEDMs screens are going blank in ~3-5 minutes reluctantly.
A Caltech maintenance staff dropped by at around noon today, and told me that he had seen a small puddle of water on the other side of the door along the Y-arm that is kept locked (about 10m from the end-table, on the south side of the arm). He suspected a leak in the lab. Koji and I went down to the said door and observed that there was indeed a small puddle of water accumulated there. There isn't any obvious source of a leak on our side of the door, although the walls tiles in the area suggest that there could be a leak in one of the pipes running through the wall/under the floor. In any case, the leak doesn't seem too dramatic, and we have decided to consult Steve as to what is to be done about this once he is back on Wednesday.
The leak was found inside the wall. Fortunately the plumbers were able to access it from CES room 108
This has been leaking for sometimes. The damaged wall area is about 18 ft long and 1 ft high.
Dataviewer x axis end is not there.
On ( 2600 days) longer plots it is missing 8 moths and on (100 days) shorther plot it is missing 1 month.
Q adjusted the Dataviewer so it is not chopping of data any more. Thanks.
Cold cathode gauge reading of 10 years.
CC1 and CC2 are working again. Why did they start working again ?
The noise floor of the Rga scan is glitching less today
Glitches are gone. Rga scan is good
Two companies are willing to make the ruby grooves and the third one is still working on their quote.
The price is ~$100 each. The cost goes down 10% if we order 50 instead of 30 pieces.
How many should we get ?
c1sus and c1ioo were restarted. PMC locked.
Two mechanical and two sticdky traps were set to catch univited visitor.
Absolutely no food or food remains into inside garbage cans!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A small rat / large mouse just ran through the control room. Ugh.
I think there should be a scientifically based aveluation of the ETMY enclosure so we can make the ETMX better.
Meanwhile I'm counting pieces to move on with the south end table cover.
PMC locked manually and PRM sus damping restored.
Suspensions are recovered after 4.2 Mag earth quake. No obvoius sign of damage.
Suspensions recovered after 4.4 Mag EQ
Our janitor confirmed that Q was not hallucinating about this animal. The dropping size indicating a good size one in the IFO room.
One of the mechanical traps moved from the control room to the east arm, close to the " machine shop " door.
I'm going to get more traps.
Please look around when working close to these five locations. Use flashlights or leave lights on.
These mechanial traps are HAZARDOUS !
No visitors or tours till Monday, Jan 11 2016
IFO restored after 4.5 Mag Banning, Ca earthquake.
Projector light bulb ordered

Vivitek D952HD with 186 hours installed.
PMC locked and ETMX suspension damping restored.
Air condition maintenance is happening. It should be done by 10am
No obvious sign of damage.
Just an other local earthquake 3.6 Mag Ludlow, Ca
No obvious sign of damage
ETMX suspension damping restored.
PRM suspension damping restored after 4.1 Mag Ludlow earthquake.
The noisy fan belt on the roof of the control room was finally replaced on Friday, Jan 22 2016
Objective: measure the noise floor on the optical table and the floor so we can decide if the table needs better anchoring before swapping in
the larger optical table
The accelerometrs labeled as MC1 ( just north east of IOO chamber floor ) and MC2 ( north east leg of MC2 table floor ) were moved:
MC1 to the floor at the north west leg of optical table.
MC2 is in the north east corner of the optical table
Atm2 was taken after table leg bolts were tighed at 40 ft/lb
The spectrum looks similar to ETMY (Guralp for below 3 Hz ) except the Z direction
The spectrum looks similar to ETMY except the Z direction
Conclusion: up to 20 Hz this set up is good.
Rana stated yesterday that there will be a vacuum control update in the close future. Witnesses : Rich, Chris and Dave
Can you give me this in writing?
After adjusting the alignment of the two beams onto the PD, I managed to recover a stronger beatnote of ~ -10dBm. I managed to take some measurements with the PLL locked, and will put up a more detailed post later in the evening. I turned the IMC autolocker off, turned the 11MHz Marconi output off, and closed the PSL shutter for the duration of my work, but have reverted these to their nominal state now. The are a few extra cables running from the PSL table to the area near the IOO rack where I was doing the measurements from, I've left these as is for now in case I need to take some more data later in the evening...I
Innolight 1W 1064nm, sn 1634 was purchased in 9-18-2006 at CIT. It came to the 40m around 2010
It's diodes should be replaced, based on it's age and performance.
RIN and noise eater bad. I will get a quote on this job.
The Innolight Manual frequency noise plot is the same as Lightwave' elog 11956
We got it! Traps are removed.
It rained hard yesterday. We have not had this strong downpoor for years. We got 0.7" and the roof did not leak.
Daily summary pages are blank today. Yesterday is ok
Pasadena fire marshal inspected the lab today. No violation was found.
No sign of damage
what is next?
Atm 3, Ron Drever could not celebrate with us because of health issues.
It shipped out for repair evaluation.
Arrived to Hayward,CA 2016Feb16
Pasadena reported the Sunday night event as a power transient caused by the trip of a power transmission line. This affected the entire city. Once the loss was detected, the system automatically switches to an alternate source. It was about one second for the system to recover.
2W Innolight, both Lightwaves at the ends, PSL HEPA, Ref Cavity and 3 AC units turned on.
The 40m vacuum did not trip. It is vacuum normal.
The Jetstore computer is indicating power failer.

Frame builder just crashed again
kicks ITMX-UL magnet into stuck position.
Hopefully it is only sticking.
Good job Q! Give us more details please or play Rachmaninoff Piano Concernto #2

confirming ITMX is really free
Taking inspiration from J. Lewis et. al, ITMX has been freed.
Safety audit went smothly.
Crane inspection is scheduled for March 4
