I just tried to adjust the ETMY camera and its not very user friendly = NEEDS FIXING.
* Camera view is upside down.
* Camera lens is contacting the lexan viewport cover; this means the focus cannot be adjusted without misaligning the camera.
* There's no strain relief of the camera cables at the can. Needs a rubber cable grommet too.
* There's a BNC "T" in the cable line.
Probably similar issues with some of the other setups; they've had aluminum foil covers for too long. We'll have a camera committee meeting tomorrow to see how to proceed.
ITMY has been upgraded here I have the new lenses on hand to do the others when it fit into the schedule.

We closed ITMX and ITMY chambers and started pumping around 11am
What we did before:
1, turned off AC power to PZT Jena HV ps
2, checked jam nut positions
3, cheched single o-ring shims
4, closed psl out shutter
We are at 30 Torr of 7 hours of pumping with 2 roughing pumps.
Kiwamu will take over the rest of the roughing today. He will keep an eye on the pumping speed to be ~1-2 Torr/min and open up the manual RV1 valve if needed.
The present status is #3023 of "chamber open to vacuum open" mode and waiting the P1 pressure to drop to 500 mTorr
He will do the following to stop pumping at P1 = 500 mTorr
1, close V3
2, close RV1 with torque wheel
3, turn off PR1 & 3
4, disconnect metal hose between RV1 and PR3
I will start the Maglev tomorrow morning.
Vacuum status: " vacuum normal" CC1 pressure 5e-5 Torr
Slow roughing through butterfly valve took 11 hours at 1-2 Torr/min speed. We had a leak at the metal hose connecting o-ring that became visible at 200 Torr.
The vacuum envelope pressure rose to 500 mTorr from 450 mTorr This is 50 mTorr leak plus outgassing over 11 hrs over night stop = 5 mTorr / hr
Atm2, Maglev pumpdown details. P2 and P3 are in the foreline of the Maglev. The pressure peaks at 4 Torr beacause the 3 drypumps have little pumpimg speed at this range.
External fan is turned on during this one hour period to prevent Maglev turbo from overheating.
Same things are happenning with the two small TP2 and TP3 pumps under load. Their foreline pressure peak at 1 Torr. They slow down to 45 K RPM from 50K RPM and warm up to 36-39 C
Precondition: 36 days at atm
We tried not to open chambers above 10,000 particles of 0.5 micron cf/min
New items going in: 2 rasor beam traps, 5 badly oxidized old silver plated setscrew with spring loaded tips......to be replaced in the future, viton tips for eq screws....some are lose, gold plated allen wrench installed at ITMX bottom, reglued magnet on ITMX
Bad hardware things found: nylon ball "locking elements" on OSEM locking set screws with screwdriver slot, lose 1064 nm filter on OSEM pd
I lined up the Y Arm for locking and then centered the oplevs for ETMY and ITMY.
* The ITMY OL has still got the old style laser. Steve, pleaes swap this one for a HeNe. Also the optical layout seems strange: there are two copies of the laser beam going into the chamber (??). Also, the QPD transimpedance needs to be increase by a factor of ~10. We're only getting ~500 counts per quadrant. Its worth it for someone to re-examine the whole ITMY OL beam layout.
* The ETMY OL beam was coming out but clipping on the mount for the ETMY OL HeNe. This indicates a failure on our part to do the ETMY closeout alignment properly. In fact, I get the feeling from looking around that we overlooked aligning the OL and IPPOS/ANG beams this time. If we're unlucky this could cause us to vent again. I undid part of the laser mount and changed the height on the receiving mirror to get the beam back onto the QPD.
I noticed that there is significant green light now getting into some of the IR PDs; beacuse of this there are weird offsets in the TRY QPD and perhaps elsewhere. We had better purchase some filters to tape over the front of the sensitive IR sensors to prevent the couplling from the green laser.
* There is a beam on IPPOS, but its too big for the detector (this has always been the case). We need to put a 2" lens with a weak focusing power on this path so as to halve the beam size on the detector. Right now its clipping and misleading. There is also a 0.9V offset on the SUM signal. I'm not sure if this readout is working at all.
* I couldn't find any beam on IPANG at all. Not sure what's changed since Kiwamu saw it.
Old Coherent diode laser was replaced by Uniphase HE/NE 1125P at ITMX.
Newport 10B20NC.1 broadband beam sampler set up as beamspitter to dump 90% of the light into beam trap. Beam in to test mass 0.7 mW , returning to qpd 0.07 mW = ~ 3,700 counts
f 1.5 m lens placed into ingoing beam path to reduce the spot size on the qpd. ITMY oplev will be done in this manner tomorrow.
* IP-ANG is lost with the Piezo Jena PS
* IP-POS cable have to be found at the LSC rack
The PRM damping was restored at side sensor var 1050
Jeff has changed our AC filters inside the lab this morning. Now he is checking on the main filters at CES. He will finish the roof units tomorrow.
Met One #1 counter is on the top of IOO chamber. It is measuring 1 and 0.5 micron size particles. One year of lab condition plot below.

The arm's CCD cameras were reset as picture shows last week.
The height adjustment only works at ITMX. Short post holders are ordered to make this feature available on the rest.
The 75 ohms video and power supply cables are stress relieved. Solid cover can be attached now without miss aligning cameras.
ITMY suspention damping restored
I'm turning the sus damping off for Dsub connection fix at the back of 1X5 rack
The plan is to install 4-40 jack screws to lock connector positions.
All dewittening(or called coil driver) and wittening D sub connectors are locked with two 4-40 socket head screws

This is one of the better oplev set up we have. Single bounce from TM, no mirror on stack. One lens and one mirror on ISCT. Old Uniphase 1103P laser on heafty 3" od mounts.
Somewhat big ~5-6 mm spot on qpd in 1,300 counts.
The intensity noise effect can be seen at 1 Hz and 3-20 Hz
Oplev servo was OFF
I failed to start Rana's favorit anciant desktop computer at the vac rack. He has to baby this old beast just a little bit more.
Vacuum status: Vac Normal was reached through Farfalla: Rga was switched back to IFO and and Annuloses are beeing pumped now.
V1 was closed for about a day and the pressure reached ~2.8 mTorr in the IFO. This leakrate plus outgassing is normal
The ref cavity 5000V was turned on.
The only thing that has to be done is to restart the RGA. I forgat to turn it off on Friday.
c1lsc and c1sus are still down. Only ETMX and ETMY are damped
JDSU 1103P died after 4 years of service. It was replaced with new identical head of 2.9 mW output. The power supply was also changed.
The return spots of 0.04 mW 2.5 mm diameter on qpds are BS 3,700 counts and PRM 4,250 counts.
The He/Ne oplev shows no coherece so relative intensity noise is not limiting factor for the oplev servo
The SRM bounce peak 18.33 Hz. Suresh helped me to retune filter through Foton, but we failed to remove it.
ITMX_OPLEV_PERROR shows high coherence with oplev laser. This is our lousiest set up. I will work on it next week.
Generally speaking we can say that JDSU-Uniphase 1103P and 1125P laser intensity noise do not limit oplev servo performance.
However, the overall well being of filters, gain settings, beam sizes on qpds are poor.
I lost UL osem voltage this morning when I was checking the actual connection at rack ETMY
This after noon I disconnected the 64 pins IDE connector from satelite amp at the rack, and the two 25 pins Dsubs at this juction board.
UL OSEM recovered after reconnecting these three connectors.
Atm3, bad connection.........noisy UL
Atm2 is before optical path adjustment. The idea was to remove possible clipping in vacuum.
Coherense significantly reduced below 4 Hz
Today I will replace the He/Ne laser 1125P with 1103P
I replaced the JDSU-Uniphase 1125P by 1103P He/Ne laser. This new laser had 2.8 mW output yesterday. It degraded to 0.5 mW by this morning.
The beam size on the QPD is ~3 mm This should give us better sensitivity. These are not the perfect lenses at all, but we have them here.
On the other hand, there are still some coherence below 1 Hz, so the laser intensity noise or clipping dominating this part of the spectrum.
ETMX oplev had 6 mm diameter beam on the qpd. I relayed the beam path with 2 lenses to get back 3 mm beam on the qpd
BRC 037 -100 Bi _concave lens and PCX 25 200 VIS do the job. Unfortunately the concave lens has the AR 1064.
Sorry Kiwamu, I realized too late that you were freeswigging. Hopefully 4 hrs was enough.
Coherence at 1 and 2-3 Hz only. He/Ne laser intensity noise is not an issue.
Uniblitz mechanical shutter installed in the green beam path at ETMY-ISCT The remote control cable has not been connected.
The ETMY shutter can be remotely switched from medm screen POY of mechanical shutters.
The new cable from ETMY controller goes to east vertex EV-ISCT where it is connected to POY shutter hook up BNC cable.
First aid kits are located close vicinity of entry doors and under circuit breaker panels.
Thinks to do before the NEXT realignment:
B, tie 4 ancher bolts on table legs to the floor
C, tie 4 dog clamps between table and chamber
D, check the locked position of the 4 x 4 positioning screws
E, check bellow protecting 4 tubes are not shorting

It reminds me to check the IFO vacuum envelope dog clamps on the chambers to floor with torque wrench.
In order to move the emergency shut off switch in room 103 I had to turn off the 2 W Innolight laser. This job will take an hour.
It is back on.

I was lucky to notice that the nitrogen supply line to the vacuum valves was leaking. Closed ALL valves. Open supply line to atm. Fixed leak.
This was done fast so the pumps did not have to be shut down. Pressurized supply line and open valves to
"Vac Normal" condition in the right sequence.
The PMC HV drops off more offen lately.
Shade 12 black glass-green lines: 1/8" thick, 6" wide x 7 " high mounted on angle bracket below. Aperture 1" diameter. Let me know what do you think.
I locked the PMC and MC resonated in TM00 right on. Than I started checking anchoring screws with the torque wrench.
B, 3/8 foor bolts were tight, They were set to 50 ft/lbs
C, dog clamp bolts were tight at 80 ft/lbs
D, horizontal position locks were lose. They were locked by finger.
E, below covers were reset not to short
The MC is locking in TM01 mode now
They were traced and labeled. One goes to 1X2 and the other to AS-ISCT. They are Andrew Heliax 1/4" od. made by CommScone, model number FSJ1-50A
The PMC acted like it was sleeping. The HV slider was dead. The MC locked instantly as the PMC had transmission.

1Y3 for HV ps for PZT steering mirrors that should be interlocked with P1 pressure gauge. Power off above 3 mTorr
1Y4 for ETMY CILs,
1X9 for ETMX CILs
I need one volunteer to help me to make MEDM screen and connect the network to the switches.
The ETMX oplev returning beam is well centered on the qpd. We lost this signal 2 days ago. I will check on the qpd.
ETMX sus damping restored. c1iscex computer is down
The foreline pressure of TP2 was 1.4 Torr this morning. This drypump worked well for ten months.
Recently rebuilt drypump with new seal was swapped in.
This is how you do it: close V1, V4 and turn off TP2. Replace drypump and start up TP2
Set pump speed to 50 K rpm and open V4 to TP1 Note that the Maglev was not turned off because V4 was closed off only 5-10 minutes.
Open V1 the status is Vac Normal.
TP2 is rotating at 50K rpm, current pick up 0.2A, the temp is 26C and its foreline pressure 33 mTorr
Ben and Sam came over to fix one of the east side sliding door sensor that had to be moved from the inside to outside on the enclosure.
We turned off the 2w Innolight for 20minutes. The power is back on, the PMC and MC locked itself immediately.
This moring I centered the IOO Angle QPD. The IOO Pos QPD was not centered. The existing layout does not allow the beam centering of the Pos qpd without misaligning the MC
input. We have to add an aditional steering mirror. I will do that tomorrow morning.
I added the steering mirror for Pos and centered both qpds
The PRM lost damping about a day ago. It was restored.
C1:IOO-QPD_ANG_VERT beam movement in 1 degree C temp change in 3 hrs
